Winfried Rief
Prof. Dr.
Prof. Rief is the head of the Clinical Psychology Group I and of the respective outpatient clinic at the University of Marburg. Winfried conducts research on the impact of expectations on mental and physical illnesses, placebo and nocebo effects, and somatoform/pain disorders. As a part of the PsyChange project, he has hosted international think tanks with renowned scientists from around the world, and has authored perspective papers focusing on the future of diagnosis systems for mental disorders and methods for enhancing the effectiveness of psychotherapy. Winfried serves as one of the two editors in chief of the diamond open access journal clinical psychology in europe.
